Episode 136
From Mental Monsters to Personal Empowerment: Janna’s Path to Launching Shuggies
In this episode of Val Full Volume, hosts Val Selby and Janna Skroch sit down for a candid conversation about their personal and professional growth journeys. Janna shares her transition from aspiring to be a coach to creating a physical product – a sugar craving reducing supplement called Shuggies. She delves into the challenges and triumphs of developing a unique supplement, the thought process behind its creation, and its alignment with her broader brand, "I Create My Life Today."
Both Val and Janna embrace the discussion on overcoming mental hurdles, anxiety, and inner critics, likening it to a mind game where the goal is to become the hero of one's life.
Listeners are encouraged to reflect on the idea that becoming aware of their mental monsters or inner critics, like Janna’s “Frank,” can be integral to personal development and success. They emphasize the importance of not letting these fears dictate their actions but instead pushing past comfort zones to achieve their aspirations.
The episode highlights the power of visualization and setting intentions for the future, whether looking five or ten years ahead, as well as using physical reminders and gamifying life's challenges to help maintain a motivated, winning mindset.

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Vowel Full
Speaker:Volume. I'm Val, and I've got another guest here today, but not
Speaker:just a guest. We are actually going
Speaker:to just be recording our catching up.
Speaker:Jana and I used to work together online,
Speaker:you know, as as coaching client, and
Speaker:it's been a little while. There was there was a couple of years things change.
Speaker:I changed business. You changed business. And we haven't caught up, so we
Speaker:decided let's just freaking record as
Speaker:we catch up because there's so much in
Speaker:between of how all the growth that you and I have both had in the
Speaker:last couple years is just, like, huge. So, Jana, thanks so
Speaker:much for being here. Thanks for being okay with recording
Speaker:our conversation so everybody can listen along to our
Speaker:growth experiences that we've had. And please jump
Speaker:on in now and go ahead and and tell listeners about you
Speaker:and whatever you want them to know about what you're doing
Speaker:now. Oh, thank you, Val. Oh my gosh. It's
Speaker:like, yeah. Where do where do I even start? I know. I just act like
Speaker:you. Oh, since the last time since the last
Speaker:time I talked to with you, you know, really talked with you Yeah. As a
Speaker:client and stuff, I've been working on, like, a physical
Speaker:products brand, like a sugar craving reducing
Speaker:supplement brand. Mhmm. So that's what I've been working on.
Speaker:I've kinda gone away from,
Speaker:I I never really was a coach anyway, but I kinda
Speaker:always wanted to be a coach. But I kept getting drawn down this,
Speaker:the physical products brand route. So that's where I've been
Speaker:going. Yeah. And I love that coming in because I
Speaker:don't think I've had any conversations with anyone about
Speaker:physical products. So this is a really good one. And especially
Speaker:because you've created your own product. I mean, it's it's not like
Speaker:and I'm not putting anything down by any means, but it's it's not like
Speaker:you're on Etsy and you've hand created, you
Speaker:know, you turned your crafts into a hobby. It's
Speaker:nothing like that whatsoever. I cannot even imagine the work that you
Speaker:put into creating a a food ish
Speaker:product. I mean, is that what we label it as a food product? A supplement.
Speaker:And in a way, I don't know if it really would be a supplement or
Speaker:not. I probably should find out what it's really classified
Speaker:as. But, I have a a sample.
Speaker:It's a sugar sugar craving reducing supplement
Speaker:brand, and I called it Shuggies. And, oh my gosh, the name
Speaker:Shuggies is, you know, s h u g e e z
Speaker:e Uh-huh. Just dropped in my head
Speaker:one day. I woke up and just
Speaker:honest to goodness, it was just this word dropped in my
Speaker:head. Uh-huh. And so I had to run downstairs in the office and see if
Speaker:the URL was available. Right. As we all do.
Speaker:Very first thing we do is, like, ah. Yeah.
Speaker:And it was. And, I have found
Speaker:this product back in
Speaker:'23, like, August of twenty twenty three,
Speaker:and it's not a secret. It's been, used in Ayurvedic
Speaker:medicine, if I said that correctly.
Speaker:For, I don't know, thousands of years. Right. And
Speaker:it's Gymnema silvestra. You know? It's
Speaker:available out there now, but I've put, put it
Speaker:in a solution. And to be fair,
Speaker:it's already in a minty solution already out there, but I
Speaker:just made it better. I added certain things to
Speaker:it, and it took nine nine,
Speaker:different samples to get it right. Yeah. And I
Speaker:kept like, oh my gosh. Now it's too minty, and now it's too and now
Speaker:it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. And in hindsight,
Speaker:it's like, okay. This thing needed to taste
Speaker:good and be effective. Yeah. Because and I'm sorry. I'm just
Speaker:going down this road now. No. No. No. Go for it. Yeah. Let's go for
Speaker:it. Because yeah. Hey. I'm I'm bringing questions are popping into my head. So go
Speaker:for it, and then I'll be nailing you.
Speaker:This you spray it on your tongue, and I call them sugar buds
Speaker:that you have on your tongue that taste the sweetness. Well, if you
Speaker:spray this on your tongue, it takes that sugar, the
Speaker:sweetness away. It Got it. The grandkids equate
Speaker:it to, like, oh my gosh. You know, they give them some sugar,
Speaker:and they're like, oh my. It's just like eating sand. There's no sweet to
Speaker:it. Right. You know? So so it's just
Speaker:a tool Yeah. You know, to use. Like, if you're wanting
Speaker:something sweet, you would just grab this and and spray it Yeah.
Speaker:Instead. Because for one thing, it'd be minty. And then the
Speaker:other is that you won't taste the sweet anyway. Right.
Speaker:See. And and it's it's ironic. I
Speaker:don't wanna say it's funny or anything like that because, of course, we we ebb
Speaker:and flow and meet up with people, you know, for specific reasons
Speaker:usually. And, you know, John and I, my husband and I are doing the
Speaker:NSNG, so no sugar, no grains. And we
Speaker:I swear you came, like, active
Speaker:back into the group at the same time that we hit that. It's like
Speaker:almost exactly the same time. Yeah.
Speaker:Because that sugar craving is a
Speaker:we don't even realize it because I'm not like a sweets girl. So it's not
Speaker:like I was, like, craving brownies or or anything like that.
Speaker:But there's so much sugar in everything
Speaker:that it's it's like, oh my gosh. The the
Speaker:the changeover from eating it. It's just I
Speaker:mean Yeah. So true because you've seen those pictures,
Speaker:and I haven't done them myself these things. But,
Speaker:the pictures, like, how much, sugar is in a pot,
Speaker:for instance, or soda or, yogurt
Speaker:or ketchup or, you know, so many things
Speaker:Mhmm. Have so much sugar in Yeah. That you would never even
Speaker:imagine. No. Because sugar is cheap. Salt is cheap.
Speaker:You know? So they put it in all kinds of foods. Yeah. Yeah. It
Speaker:it it was an eye opening to both of us because, thankfully, our son lives
Speaker:close enough. And believe me, you guys, we're not just gonna stick on this whole,
Speaker:food food talk. No. So Believe me, but we are gonna go there right now.
Speaker:Because because I just want to throw this in here Yeah. That I don't
Speaker:care if it's a pill, potion, lotion, powder, whatever.
Speaker:It's not gonna work unless you get the mindset part of the whole thing.
Speaker:Right? And so these things are tools, but the mind
Speaker:mindset is yeah. That's where Exactly. It
Speaker:really is. Exactly. And how
Speaker:so I know that you've got your brand, I create my life today. Right? Yeah.
Speaker:Did I say it exactly right? Okay. So I wanna make sure I wanted to
Speaker:make sure I got every word exactly right. I create my life
Speaker:today. How did this end up it
Speaker:didn't morph. How how is this
Speaker:maybe it did morph. Maybe it did morph. Yeah.
Speaker:It morphed into the physical product that you will be
Speaker:coordinating things together. Right? Heck, yeah. %.
Speaker:Because and I know you know the story, but
Speaker:you probably forgot it. But it has to be almost twenty
Speaker:years ago. I was gonna buy a a business in a
Speaker:nearby town, create a, like, a curves type of
Speaker:business, exercise studio for women. And at the last
Speaker:second, I had a panic attack. I called the realtor. I said,
Speaker:don't present the offer. I mean, I my heart was,
Speaker:oh, wow. A full on meltdown. Just Yeah.
Speaker:And I hung up. I called her, and all she said
Speaker:was, okay. Because we were planning this,
Speaker:this studio out, this exercise. It was gonna be so
Speaker:much fun. Mhmm. And so she was just like,
Speaker:okay. Right. All these months of putting things together. I was like,
Speaker:oh, alright. It was just so shocking. And I I
Speaker:was at work in the lab at the time,
Speaker:and I sat down, and I thought, what the frick just happened?
Speaker:He really was like, you know, a goal could be this close.
Speaker:Yeah. And you throw it away. Mhmm. And but it was all
Speaker:the fear and the panic and everything. And I thought, my God.
Speaker:I'm not in control. I'm just not in control of my life. You know,
Speaker:this inner thing controlled me in that minute
Speaker:or that week prior to You know, all the negative things that it
Speaker:says And so then it became a lifelong
Speaker:mission and will until I die that I
Speaker:figure out, you know, how to control this inner critic, this
Speaker:mental monster, that wants to stay in
Speaker:its comfort zone and prevents me from reaching my
Speaker:goals Yeah So, yeah, that's that's what I'm doing with these
Speaker:mindset things. And, I've got a picture here I
Speaker:have to share. This is a picture because
Speaker:oh, yeah. And I have to introduce you to my friends here too. Yep. Yep.
Speaker:Yep. The friends gotta come out. Yep.
Speaker:And after that panic attack, it was probably a month
Speaker:or so afterwards. And I thought, oh my god. It was just like this big
Speaker:scary wolf got up in my face and chased me back to my
Speaker:comfort zone. And, well, now I'm now I'm gonna go. I
Speaker:know. Now you're you're bringing him out. Yeah. Yeah. He's gotta come out.
Speaker:Now he's gotta come out. And so around the same time,
Speaker:I found this thing, and I call it Frankie. It's short
Speaker:for Frankenstein, because when you are all, in
Speaker:your comfort zone, you're not doing anything crazy,
Speaker:Frankie's all happy. Mhmm. But if you start to get a little bit out of
Speaker:your comfort zone, then he starts like, what are you doing? You
Speaker:know, you can make a fool out of yourself. Yeah. And then Everybody's
Speaker:gonna laugh at you. You're so stupid. And
Speaker:then when you really go for it, really go for it, this is it
Speaker:feels like it just morphs into this crazy
Speaker:craziness. Mhmm. Mhmm. So that's one.
Speaker:And then this is is my sugar monster. It's
Speaker:Oh my gosh. See, I like to have
Speaker:physical reminders around, you know, that
Speaker:like, when I'm feeling something, it's like, alright. Who's in
Speaker:there talking? Who wants what? You know? Is it something
Speaker:business related that wants to stay in its comfort zone?
Speaker:And, you know, I was stuck at that level
Speaker:for, quite a few years. Yeah.
Speaker:Just reflecting on this. Okay. I recognize I have
Speaker:this inner mental monsters, you know, and
Speaker:and sometimes And learning and learning and learning. I mean, you were going
Speaker:through program on top of program to to know it.
Speaker:To get the knowledge. Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, honestly, at that
Speaker:time, I didn't understand the anxiety.
Speaker:I mean, I understood you had it, and it
Speaker:was massive and, you know, life changing. I had
Speaker:not acknowledged my anxiety at that
Speaker:point until last year. So I,
Speaker:unfortunately, now completely understand
Speaker:that anxiety attack that you had that you were just like, no.
Speaker:Uh-uh. I'm freaking out. I might die. Like, I might die.
Speaker:We I can't sign the papers. Uh-uh. Like, my world will
Speaker:end if I do that. Oh my gosh.
Speaker:So you had something happen or you recognized that you were doing the
Speaker:same thing last year well in some way?
Speaker:It there was there was so much that happened. I mean, like like,
Speaker:a a ton of stuff with business stuff, personal stuff.
Speaker:And I'm I can remember back years
Speaker:ago when my son when our son, first
Speaker:mentioned that first told us that he'd been dealing with mental
Speaker:health issues for quite a long time. And we went to a
Speaker:counseling session with him. And I remember the counselor
Speaker:saying and this is stuck in my head the entire time. And, you know,
Speaker:we're, like, six years ago, six probably six years ago.
Speaker:And he the the counselor asked my son and said, well, do you well, do
Speaker:you think that you get this from somewhere? And I'm sitting next to my son,
Speaker:and I'm still angry about it at this point. Right? And he's like,
Speaker:yeah. My mom. And, I mean, I literally was,
Speaker:like, looking at him. I just wanted to get up and go, what the fuck
Speaker:are you talking about? You know? I I was like, I don't have no
Speaker:anxiety. I don't know what where this is coming from. Why would he and ever
Speaker:since that moment, I've had that self reflection of it. And
Speaker:then, whoo, all of a sudden when everything just started
Speaker:collapsing and the anxiety came in and I didn't even
Speaker:know what to do, I'm like, okay. Well, we're gonna be dealing with this now
Speaker:because this has been bubbling for decades.
Speaker:And I will acknowledge this now. Yeah. But how
Speaker:cool. You know? Now now you can well, when the
Speaker:feeling comes up, you're aware of it, and you can deal
Speaker:with it. Yep. And make choices even with it. And and I
Speaker:have I have no problem that if I can't
Speaker:deal with something, I will cancel stuff. I'm just like, I am
Speaker:I am not going to put myself through those moments like you, you
Speaker:know, you talked about. They're not that bad anymore by any means. But I'm
Speaker:still I'm not gonna force myself through some of those when it's really
Speaker:bad. Other times, I am just like, alright, girl. Put your big girl
Speaker:panties on. We are doing this. We're we're going to go through the
Speaker:fear. So now I'm kinda wondering, do I need a Frank?
Speaker:Maybe I maybe I need a Frank. You know,
Speaker:I think it does help, you know, to have these things sitting around just as
Speaker:a visual reminder of what's going on But
Speaker:someone told me just last summer that well, in
Speaker:2023 that you're aware that you
Speaker:have these mental monsters, I call them you
Speaker:know, these feelings and doubts and insecurities and
Speaker:imposter syndrome, self sabotage, you know, all those
Speaker:things. Yeah. She said, but who do you wanna be? You're aware
Speaker:that you have all this stuff, but who do you wanna be? And I said,
Speaker:well, I wanna be in control. She said, well, you wanna be the
Speaker:hero of your life. Right? And I'm like, yeah. I guess
Speaker:that you could call it that. And so then I got
Speaker:my little super hero doll and she sits
Speaker:next to me and it's like, frick. Yes. This is
Speaker:who I am. This is who I am. These things
Speaker:I'm getting goosebumps. These things aren't gonna
Speaker:control me anymore. Yeah. So that's like And I
Speaker:think, okay. So your your superhero,
Speaker:we all have different learning styles. Right? So and and
Speaker:different things that work. So I have been working on the
Speaker:visualization of what I want my life to look like, you know, ten years.
Speaker:And that's just taking in another step. That's like,
Speaker:okay. I've got my superhero, and I know. And you might not see
Speaker:her as a superhero. You I I I can see that if you look at
Speaker:her, you're visualizing your future self. Right. You know, not
Speaker:necessarily Wonder Woman with her cape. But No. But that's that's just
Speaker:my cape. It's like the focus point. Well, like, when we have children and they're
Speaker:telling us to have the focus point focal points. Right? I don't I
Speaker:don't know. Yeah. I don't know if you did a a a what kind of
Speaker:birthing experiences you had, but but that is one of the things. We
Speaker:we had the focal points Uh-huh. To to focus on and so
Speaker:that we weren't paying attention to the pain. That's kinda that. I don't know where
Speaker:the hell that was even going. But, but I agree. But I am
Speaker:wondering, you know, maybe I should keep an eye
Speaker:out, not look for it, but keep an eye out for my own
Speaker:Frank for when the anxiety hits. It's like, okay. You know what? That's
Speaker:yours. You can keep it. %. That's it.
Speaker:Exactly. Because all those things I say,
Speaker:you know, the comfort zones belong to the inner
Speaker:critics, the mental monsters. Mhmm. They don't belong to you. They're
Speaker:standing in your way. Yeah. You know, you're supposed to be, yeah,
Speaker:your own hero. You know? Yeah. Yeah. It's like it's
Speaker:like, thank you for trying to save me, but I don't need saving right now.
Speaker:We are safe. Go hush. Yeah. Over there. And, yeah, just get the
Speaker:heck out of my way. Yeah. Yeah. Go hush. Standing in my way.
Speaker:Uh-huh. So how did you end up,
Speaker:because, I mean, doing a doing a product, that's a
Speaker:big deal. The undertaking of creating
Speaker:it, the expense, I assume, of creating a physical
Speaker:product, you know, how did
Speaker:you even get started with the, oh, this is what I'm gonna do.
Speaker:This is where this is going. Always knew. I always knew I was gonna do
Speaker:a brand of my own, you know, because we've been selling
Speaker:on Amazon since 2013 and doing
Speaker:pretty well with it but selling wholesale I
Speaker:buy things, you know, buy the pallet full and break them down into
Speaker:different unit sizes and sell it But it's like,
Speaker:I'm not very interested in hinges. Okay? Right? It's yeah.
Speaker:Mind numbing. Right? Yeah. So it's like but
Speaker:I always knew then with that knowledge that I you
Speaker:know, the Amazon knowledge, the physical products
Speaker:world that I could make something, but I just didn't know
Speaker:what yet. Because I was always, like, couldn't go down the
Speaker:route. I create my life today, you know, cups,
Speaker:mugs. There is my I create my life today and cheaper thing.
Speaker:Just another reminder product. Yep. You know?
Speaker:And then I ran into this well, it's
Speaker:always about weight loss. Right? Yeah. Yeah. You know, for one
Speaker:thing, a good market, people wanna be healthier.
Speaker:I can use it at this time. That's another story.
Speaker:Excuse me. And then I ran into
Speaker:this this product, and I thought, oh,
Speaker:heck. I'm doing this. I know how to make it
Speaker:better. It was that easy.
Speaker:That Yeah. It just immediately hit you. Nice. Yeah.
Speaker:And then, like I said, the name for it just fell in when I woke
Speaker:up one morning just Yeah. Just like that.
Speaker:And it fit exactly with the mindset work
Speaker:that I, you know, use on myself with these mental
Speaker:monsters You know, now I've got the sugar monster I call him
Speaker:Shuggie And then here's my
Speaker:rendition of I know. I love it.
Speaker:Winning your hero winning over the sugar monster.
Speaker:Uh-huh. The voice in your head that says, start
Speaker:tomorrow. Or Yeah. Yeah. Just try one brownie
Speaker:and then half a pan of brownies later, it's like Mhmm.
Speaker:Yeah. That's just that voice, and, so I thought, I'm doing
Speaker:this, and it was
Speaker:strange. It wasn't so much that I
Speaker:was gonna do this, but it's like I was being pushed to do it
Speaker:Uh-huh. In a way, you know, by God, by source, like Mhmm.
Speaker:That it's like, alright. You have all this knowledge,
Speaker:this mindset knowledge. Now this is what I
Speaker:want you to use it for. Right. It's how it felt. And
Speaker:it's like, okay. Well, then it can't feel. Right? You
Speaker:know? That's how I feel. Uh-huh. Can
Speaker:it be up and down and frustrating and all the
Speaker:stuff? Well, yes. You know? Because I I call it well, that's the human part
Speaker:of it. Uh-huh. Unfortunately. It'd
Speaker:be so much much easier if we didn't have all the human crap in the
Speaker:middle. Right. So it's just like, I
Speaker:I believe that's my journey. So so Nice. Yes.
Speaker:And, yeah, I love that it's that it's melding everything
Speaker:together and, you know, you guys listening. It
Speaker:Shanna was already in the physical
Speaker:product space. So it's just a matter of taking everything she's
Speaker:learned and putting all of that expertise together and
Speaker:being aware. Yeah. Being aware that, you know, when that sign
Speaker:pops up and and this is this is the thing. Uh-huh. You know?
Speaker:Uh-huh. Not having Frank step in and go, oh, lord.
Speaker:No. I well, I'm Oh, they do. Sure? I'm sure we don't know
Speaker:what we're doing. You might think you know what we're doing, but I know we
Speaker:don't know what we're doing. %, they still say that.
Speaker:It's like, well, I'll just keep I'm gonna keep
Speaker:going. And it's interesting. You just keep going
Speaker:and and stay in Neville Goddard, you
Speaker:know, with his he would say stay in the feeling of the wish fulfilled.
Speaker:Mhmm. And it's like, oh, heck. Yeah. I'm yeah. I'm
Speaker:there. You know? Yeah. It's like you said, the visualization
Speaker:part. Where do I wanna be in ten years?
Speaker:Well, five. Let's speed this thing up a little bit. Right. Right.
Speaker:Yeah. Yeah. Ava, I was I was talking to well,
Speaker:another friend we always get together for our our weekly chats. I was talking to
Speaker:Ruth, and I had the realization because I
Speaker:always knew that there was, like, this you know, our sales renew
Speaker:seven to fifteen years. Right? I've been
Speaker:waiting for that seven year mark from when I first witnessed
Speaker:that I knew I had to make major, major changes in
Speaker:myself. Okay. That that seven year mark is in February.
Speaker:And I'm like, no wonder why I'm having this whole I
Speaker:feel like I have to refresh, you know, fresh start, all
Speaker:of this. I'm like, because seven years ago, this is what I started
Speaker:seeing. Oh, wow. And here I am. I'm gonna try not to cry
Speaker:because that's the new thing. I cry all the time. But but it's like, oh
Speaker:my gosh. That visualization of change,
Speaker:I am. Every cell in my body is brand
Speaker:new from when all of that trauma was happening.
Speaker:You know, that that eight years ago to that yeah. All of
Speaker:that. And and you were there for a lot of that growth. I mean,
Speaker:you were really there for a lot of that early messy growth
Speaker:that was going on that you were watching through. How
Speaker:crazy to for me to think back on it.
Speaker:It's like I didn't know you were going through anything. No. No. You
Speaker:know? Mm-mm. I mean, I thought you had together and Yep.
Speaker:Yep. I was an expert hider. I mean, goodness
Speaker:knows, I hid it from myself that I had lived all my life with anxiety.
Speaker:So, I mean, of course, everybody else is gonna see it. But but
Speaker:yeah. And that's that's been the the wonderful change is
Speaker:I mean, it it helps you to to work with, you
Speaker:know, people like you as well that we're very open. We're
Speaker:sharing the struggles. Nice. Yes. So that I knew, okay.
Speaker:I'm not I'm not abnormal, and I don't have
Speaker:to pretend that I have everything together all the time. And and lord knows,
Speaker:I mean, podcasts I'm 100% open on the
Speaker:podcast. So everybody's everybody gets whatever's happening and
Speaker:MessyVal or TogetherVal or whatever Val is is
Speaker:showing up now. And it's so much nicer to not
Speaker:feel like I have to have it all together because nobody does. No one. No.
Speaker:No one. But no one
Speaker:Nobody does. Just, you know, all of this
Speaker:stuff, the shugis and the mindset,
Speaker:just I think like in the last six months or so, I thought,
Speaker:God, this is like playing a video game. So I started calling it, you know,
Speaker:life is a mind game. And I'm gonna be the winner. So, you know, it's
Speaker:like life is a mind game. Be a winner. That's my new
Speaker:that's my new mantra Yeah, your new mantra But it all
Speaker:fits. Just in hindsight, it all fits because
Speaker:it's like, if you're playing a real game there's
Speaker:rules in the game, you know, if it's a video
Speaker:game or a board game like Chutes and Ladders or
Speaker:Candy Land, call it, especially with Shuggies.
Speaker:But there's rules and there's objectives. And you get
Speaker:to the amazing thing to me
Speaker:is that you're already the winner. You're already
Speaker:the winner. All these things, like, if you're here and you're going
Speaker:up the board game and you wanna get here, you're gonna run into
Speaker:all these, well, chutes and ladders or sticky
Speaker:places in the candy land, that absolutely is
Speaker:gonna happen. But if you keep persisting and keep telling those
Speaker:mental monsters to knock it off, you're gonna end up at the end as the
Speaker:winner. Yeah. That's how I think of this mind game. And
Speaker:so that's where all these things fit in. Yeah. It's like,
Speaker:okay. I'm playing against these things. And I like to
Speaker:think of it as a game, a fun game, because who wants to do
Speaker:anything that's hard or boring or, Yep. You know, at
Speaker:least put some life to it and make it fun and
Speaker:Exactly. Yes. Gamify it.
Speaker:Yeah. And gamifying it. I mean, I know for me, sometimes the gamifying
Speaker:things, it well, for one, it brings
Speaker:out the competitive nature in me, but but then I can
Speaker:also look at it. Maybe it's maybe it's more objectively.
Speaker:Maybe it's that. Because maybe maybe when I'm gamify things, I can take a
Speaker:little bit of the the personal feelings kinda thing out. I don't know.
Speaker:That's, like, that's diving deeper or something like that. One more thing here really
Speaker:quick. Yeah. You talked about objectively. I have this thing
Speaker:called an awareness jar. Mhmm.
Speaker:And I shouldn't do this, but I'm gonna do this. It's
Speaker:just really super fast. Okay? This represents your
Speaker:body. Okay? This is your body. Here's
Speaker:you. So you're in your in there. This is you and your body.
Speaker:And here's your inner critic, your mental
Speaker:monster. Uh-huh. You got Frank. Yep. Picture Frank.
Speaker:So this is what's going on in your body. Yeah. This
Speaker:is you want so many things. Like, I wanna run my
Speaker:half marathon in less than three hours. Mhmm.
Speaker:Where's,
Speaker:create a legacy movement with showbiz. Your goals. Yep. My goals. My
Speaker:intention. Going in there with Frank and and and yourself.
Speaker:Right. And then the weight at one forty five.
Speaker:Mhmm. And then see, those were pink. That's me.
Speaker:Yep. And Frankie's voice is,
Speaker:for the weight one, yeah, Yeah. But you like eating peanut butter and chocolate
Speaker:chips by the spoonful. Oh. You know, you
Speaker:Nice. That's how that goes. And Yeah. And
Speaker:once again, just another physical reminder Yeah. Of what's going
Speaker:on. And so when you become aware of it,
Speaker:you take it's like you're taking yourself out. You're becoming objective
Speaker:Uh-huh. And you can see what Frankie's telling you.
Speaker:Right. Isn't this facility So I've been I've worked. I've I've Well, no. You know,
Speaker:and I've I'm I'm really working at not calling things silly because I I
Speaker:do that. I realize I do that when I'm uncomfortable even though I totally believe
Speaker:it. But You're looking for that. Thank you. That's
Speaker:so I do the same thing. I and I use the word silly. You
Speaker:know? So I was like, okay. I'm gonna make fun of it first before anybody
Speaker:else can. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for
Speaker:that. But it objectifies. It Yeah. Become
Speaker:aware. It's just another tool.
Speaker:Yeah. You know? So it's like when you hear Frankie saying
Speaker:the thing, it's like, no. You know? And
Speaker:so it's like you can separate yourself from your your thoughts
Speaker:Yeah. And and your feelings. Yeah. And and and,
Speaker:yeah, that's that's the visual a more visual way of doing it because
Speaker:that's, you know, growing up with a a worry work for a mom, I
Speaker:have always done the whole, okay. Worst case scenario then, just
Speaker:bring it. Tell me what's gonna happen. I'm like and I'll get to the point
Speaker:where I just get ridiculous. I'm like, I'm not even gonna wait for you to
Speaker:tell me it happens. Okay. This this could happen, and there could be a
Speaker:whole damn sinkhole, and the whole freaking house goes into the sinkhole. You know? I
Speaker:will just start getting ridiculous. And and to help
Speaker:her and other people, you know, start bringing you know, what are the
Speaker:worries? They're in your head. Deal with them. We have to
Speaker:acknowledge them because they're there. You know? It's like, it doesn't matter if it
Speaker:makes sense. Yeah. And it's like, why worry about
Speaker:something that isn't even any a thing yet? Yeah. You know?
Speaker:There's the chances of them for
Speaker:Yeah. Well, it a sinkhole. Nothing. I know. Right? Yeah. The the
Speaker:ridiculous could happen. It it honestly could. But what are we gonna
Speaker:stop doing stuff because of it? Your option
Speaker:is a really good, different tool to use because
Speaker:I know that there's a lot of people that because that's kind that's a form
Speaker:of journaling. But when you when when people are told to But when you
Speaker:when when people are told to journal because it helps get their
Speaker:stuff out, there's a lot of people that have a just a huge block.
Speaker:So that would be, like, the easier way to maybe think about going into a
Speaker:journal. Okay. So that would be, like, the easier way to maybe think about
Speaker:going into a journal is That's a good thought. Yeah. Writing it down
Speaker:on the little pieces of paper and putting it putting it in a jar. Things
Speaker:that you want. And then and, you know,
Speaker:especially when it comes to goal or intention setting, the things that you
Speaker:want and then the things that your inner critic, your mental
Speaker:monsters say. Yeah. Then it's like, you
Speaker:because they start talking right away, but you don't hear them. Sometimes it's
Speaker:this feeling. Yep. Especially as you start to take action.
Speaker:And it's these feelings. Mhmm. And it's like,
Speaker:then you can be more aware that, okay, I
Speaker:remember writing down on the piece of paper that, you know,
Speaker:I am gonna be or you're gonna make a fool of yourself or you
Speaker:know? Yeah. Yeah. And and I
Speaker:know for me, the act getting the actual
Speaker:thoughts has been quite a long
Speaker:process because I knew there was
Speaker:feeling, but I never had this feeling. I never had
Speaker:I guess I expected that, you know, the reader board was gonna go through my
Speaker:head of, you know, this is this is the thought. This is the self
Speaker:sabotage thought. And I've never had that. There wasn't
Speaker:ever the, oh, you're so stupid. You're so fat. Any of that kind of
Speaker:stuff purposely rolling through the reader board on my head. Right.
Speaker:So I was like, oh, I just I don't I don't know then. How
Speaker:do I even deal with that? And so sitting with it and
Speaker:writing it and changing it, and as soon as you start writing
Speaker:one thing, all of a sudden, it's like, oh, okay. Well, this is probably
Speaker:going through my head too. Oh, okay.
Speaker:Yeah. You know, and exactly. Because I bet I was
Speaker:40 some years old living off feelings Uh-huh.
Speaker:And not analyzing
Speaker:behind the feelings. No. Because there's no time. There's also no time.
Speaker:No. And we don't want to. It's uncomfortable. Right? Right. But I
Speaker:didn't even know think to do it. Yeah. You know? And wasn't until
Speaker:I thought, oh my god. You know, the this Frankie thing that,
Speaker:I life has just changed so much. Well well yeah.
Speaker:And when you had your panic attack, you you couldn't hide anymore. Yeah.
Speaker:I mean, you immediately, like,
Speaker:yeah. I don't get a choice of not dealing because if there's
Speaker:no bigger sign. Yeah. Yeah. I was like no bigger sign. Not
Speaker:in control. Something else is in control. Right? Yeah. And how do
Speaker:I get control back? Awesome. So okay. I know you need
Speaker:to to wrap it up because you got family coming in, soon.
Speaker:And what when is your product gonna be coming out?
Speaker:Do you have an estimate time? Or
Speaker:Let's see. It should be, now I think about the
Speaker:January. Oh, awesome. Information
Speaker:from the vet manufacturer
Speaker:today that the boxes are made because they gotta make the
Speaker:boxes and then the labels. The labels aren't made yet. And once
Speaker:the labels are made, then, then it's go
Speaker:time. Awesome. So then awesome.
Speaker:Because in the show notes, you guys, we will have everything in there
Speaker:so that you can go and check it out and find out even more
Speaker:about the product. And, this is gonna be
Speaker:ending sometimes towards the end of of January. So the timing's the timing's
Speaker:gonna be spot on right there with the product coming out.
Speaker:And seeing Oh my gosh. At a similar time. Right?
Speaker:That's gonna be so good. Is there anything that you would like to
Speaker:leave the listeners with? Any last thought that bubbling in your
Speaker:head? Yeah. To me, now, it's life is a
Speaker:mind game. Be a winner. Be aware of or choose
Speaker:to become aware or identify your mental
Speaker:monsters Mhmm. And and deal with them Mhmm. Because
Speaker:they wanna stay in their comfort zone. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna start looking around
Speaker:for my Frank. I don't I don't know what it's gonna look like. I don't
Speaker:know what's it's not gonna be called Frank because yours is Frank. So it'll it'll
Speaker:come to me. That's fine. I know I know I will find it.
Speaker:It. Thank you so much for being here, Jana. It was awesome to start the
Speaker:catch up process with you. I know. Right? It's so amazing.
Speaker:Thank you.
